Colombia Update: MINIMUM LEGAL WAGE FOR 2022
17/12/2021The Permanent Concertation Commission of Wages and Labor Policies agreed to set the minimum wage for 2022 at COP $1,000,000 per month, and the transportation allowance at COP $ 117,172. The Government adopted this agreement by Decrees 1724 and 1725 of 2021 respectively.
IMPLICATIONS:
- As of January 1, 2022, the minimum integral salary is COP $13.000.000 per month.
- Employees earning up to 2 minimum wages per month (COP $2.000.000) and have been working for the employer for over three months, are entitled to receive work clothing and footwear provision. Employers shall comply with this obligation every four months (April 30th, August 31st and December 20th).
Employees earning up to 2 minimum wages per month (COP $2.000.000) are entitled to receive a legal transportation allowance, which for 2022 is equivalent to COP $117.172 per month.
