Czech Republic : Upcoming Amendment to the Labor Code
16/11/2018A bill of amendment to the Labor Code, as amended, is currently undergoing a legislative process. If approved in the current wording, it will bring numerous conceptual changes, including a couple of completely new institutes. The bill was submitted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Czech Republic.
Considering the large scope of the amendment and the fact that the bill is at the very beginning of the legislative process (on September 14, 2018, the deadline for suggesting comments in the comment procedure ended), it is possible to expect that if the bill is adopted, its final wording will be different from the current one due to possible amendment motions submitted during the whole process.
The most important possible changes include new shared workplace institute, modification of transfer of employees and notification period, updated rules for delivery of documents to employees, conceptual changes in holiday legislation and new rules for return from parental leave.
